the mexican sway of an amsterdam tree

the trees raining the leaves but the leaves never leaving the branch
in their
undulating sway

&

the clouds behind stand as shadows
breathing as well
a minuet
a floor-room-crawl
a dancehall of
rippled      mossy      squares
underfoot
